Vienna

Imperial elegance meets contemporary European thinking.

Why Vienna?

For centuries the seat of the Habsburg Empire and the centre of European intellectual and artistic life, Vienna today combines extraordinary imperial grandeur with a vibrant contemporary culture, a world-leading quality of life and a strong tradition of progressive thinking in education and social policy. For education professionals, Vienna is a uniquely inspiring destination. The city has a long and distinguished tradition in pedagogy and child development, and has been home to some of the most influential thinkers in educational psychology and social learning theory. Its world-class museums, its magnificent architecture and its warm, welcoming atmosphere make it one of the most complete and enjoyable destinations in our network.

Vienna has a quality that is difficult to describe but immediately felt: a sense of civilised ease, of culture taken seriously and enjoyed fully, that permeates everyday life in the city. Our participants consistently describe Vienna as one of the most pleasurable and intellectually stimulating destinations in our network.
