About This Course

Entrepreneurship education is one of the EU's most consistently emphasised policy priorities. The EntreComp framework, adopted by the European Commission in 2016 and now embedded in education systems across the continent, defines entrepreneurship as a key competence for lifelong learning that goes far beyond starting a business to encompass creativity, initiative, problem-solving and the ability to turn ideas into action.

This course gives education professionals a thorough, inspiring and practically grounded introduction to entrepreneurship education. Participants explore the EntreComp framework in depth, develop their own entrepreneurial mindset and skills, and design learning experiences that develop entrepreneurial competences in their students across all age groups and subject areas.

The course is aligned with EntreComp, the European Entrepreneurship Competence Framework, the Digital Education Action Plan and the Erasmus+ priorities of Digital Transformation and Inclusion and Diversity.

Who Should Attend

  • Teachers who want to develop entrepreneurial thinking and initiative in their students
  • Citizenship, economics and social studies teachers
  • School leaders developing entrepreneurship education strategies
  • VET teachers and trainers interested in entrepreneurship
  • Teachers involved in Erasmus+ projects with an innovation or entrepreneurship dimension

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course participants will be able to:

  • Explain the EntreComp framework and the EU's vision of entrepreneurship as a key competence for all citizens.

Entrepreneurship in EntreComp is not about business. It is about the capacity to act on opportunities and ideas, to work with others, to take initiative and to create value. You will be able to explain this clearly and compellingly to colleagues who think entrepreneurship education is irrelevant to their subject.

  • Design learning experiences that develop entrepreneurial competences across the three EntreComp areas.

EntreComp's three areas are Ideas and Opportunities (creativity, vision, spotting opportunities), Resources (self-awareness, mobilising others, financial literacy) and Into Action (planning, taking initiative, working with others). You will design specific activities for each area appropriate for your context.

  • Use project-based and challenge-based approaches to develop entrepreneurial thinking and initiative.

Entrepreneurial competences cannot be developed through lectures. They need to be practiced through real challenges, real collaboration and real stakes. You will design a challenge-based learning experience that develops multiple EntreComp competences simultaneously.

  • Develop your own entrepreneurial mindset and model entrepreneurial values for your students.

The most important thing any teacher of entrepreneurship can do is be entrepreneurial themselves. You will spend time during the course developing your own initiative, creativity and problem-solving capacity, because teaching what you practise is always more powerful than teaching what you know.

  • Connect entrepreneurship education to school development, Erasmus+ and the EU's economic and social priorities.

Entrepreneurship education that is connected to EU policy is more credible, more fundable and more strategic. You will know how to position your entrepreneurship work within the EU's skills agenda, the Digital Education Action Plan and your school's Erasmus+ project.
