About This Course
Health and social care is the largest and fastest-growing employment sector in Europe. Demographic change, the ageing population, the mental health crisis and increasing complexity of care needs are creating unprecedented demand for highly trained health and social care workers.
VET plays a central role developing this workforce, training nursing assistants, care workers, social care professionals, early childhood care workers and mental health support workers. The quality of this training directly affects the quality of care that millions of Europeans receive.
This course gives VET teachers and trainers in health and social care a thorough, research-grounded engagement with person-centred care, digital health tools, inclusion in care contexts and reflective professional practice.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
Apply person-centred care principles to VET training design across health and social care contexts.
Person-centred care is the foundation of high-quality practice. You will design VET programmes that model the very values they are trying to teach, placing the person being cared for at the absolute centre.
Integrate digital health tools and technologies into vocational training.
Electronic care records, telehealth platforms, digital medication management and assistive technologies are now standard in professional care. You will design training activities that develop genuine digital health competences.
Address mental health, emotional resilience and wellbeing in health and social care VET.
Health and social care workers have among the highest rates of burnout and compassion fatigue. VET training that addresses emotional resilience is both a professional responsibility and an ethical obligation.
Design reflective practice frameworks appropriate for health and social care VET learners.
Reflective practice is a core professional competence in all care roles. You will have practical frameworks including portfolio approaches, guided reflection tools and peer supervision models adapted for vocational contexts.
