About This Course
Nearly one in four upper-secondary VET graduates work in jobs directly impacted by the green transition. VET graduates are also overrepresented in greenhouse gas-intensive jobs, highlighting the urgent need for targeted upskilling and the need to align VET curricula with emerging green skills.
Every vocational sector is being transformed. Construction needs sustainable building knowledge. Automotive needs electric vehicle competences. Hospitality needs sustainable operations. The question is not whether green skills are relevant to VET but how quickly VET institutions can integrate them.
This course gives VET teachers and trainers a thorough, practical and cross-sector introduction to green skills and sustainability in VET. Participants explore the GreenComp framework, examine how the green transition is reshaping their sector, and develop practical approaches to integrating green skills into their training programmes.

GreenComp's twelve sustainability competences are directly applicable to VET curriculum design. You will use GreenComp as a planning tool to identify where your curriculum needs strengthening.
Design green skills learning activities embedded in authentic vocational contexts.
Green skills are most effectively developed through authentic vocational practice rather than added-on sustainability modules. You will design activities where green skills are embedded in the vocational work learners are already developing.
